The Stone Independent School seeks Full-Time Mathematics Teacher for Fall of 2019.

Position Summary: Full time faculty members teach a full academic load including multiple core classes and electives, teach at least one five-day “intensive” course, help lead morning community time, serve as club and House leaders, mentors, advisors, and -- eventually -- coaches.  Our teachers are engaged in the work of designing curriculum and creating a school culture alongside our students. The ideal candidate will be inquisitive, interested in educational design, engaged by Stone’s mission and creative ethos, highly energetic, and committed to working with adolescents. S/he will have both passion for and experience in teaching Mathematics, and the academic background to teach in interdisciplinary courses. S/he will be comfortable teaching a wide-range of courses, s/he will be able to develop in her students the kinds of sophisticated problem-solving and critical-thinking strategies needed for success in college and the world beyond college, and s/he’ll be excited about the prospect of joining a progressive mathematics curriculum.

S/he will have both passion for and experience in teaching Physics and Sciences, and the academic background to teach in interdisciplinary courses.  S/he will be comfortable teaching a wide-range of courses, s/he will be able to develop in her students the kinds of sophisticated problem-solving and critical-thinking strategies needed for success in college and the world beyond college, and s/he’ll be excited about the prospect of joining a progressive Science department.
