Assistant Teacher

Assistant Teacher (Lower School) / Full-Time Position

We are looking for a dedicated and energetic Assistant Teacher to join our Lower School team.

As an assistant teacher you’ll support a Lower Elementary mixed-age classroom (2nd-4th) and meet with students in small groups throughout the day. You’ll support our Lead Teachers in designing problem-based experiences and fostering an environment where students feel safe to take risks, fail forward, and grow. You will help students build confidence, independence, and grow their curiosity.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborative Instruction: Work alongside Lead Teachers to implement inquiry-driven, hands-on lessons that align with Stone’s Portrait of a Graduate. Support individual and small-group learning activities.
Student Mentorship: Act as a mentor and facilitator, helping students navigate academic and social-emotional growth.
Classroom Culture: Help maintain a joyful, student-centered environment where vulnerability is celebrated and every voice is heard.
Operational Support: Assist with classroom management, documentation of student progress, and daily logistics.
Community Engagement: Build warm, respectful relationships with children and families.
